On 21 July 2026, a meeting took place between Dmytro Stus, Chairman of the Board of the “StusCenter” civil society organization, and Andriy Pyshnyy, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, initiated by the parties for an open dialogue regarding the new 2,000-hryvnia banknote dedicated to the poet Vasyl Stus.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine and by Serhiy Kolisnyk, a representative of Lobby Club, who took responsibility for organizing the meeting.

The participants discussed the concept of the new banknote, its symbolism, and its significance for raising the profile of Vasyl Stus. The meeting affirmed a shared commitment to fittingly honor the memory of the poet, who became one of Ukraine’s moral authorities.

As an outcome of the meeting, agreements were reached on possible areas of cooperation between the National Bank of Ukraine, the “StusCenter” civil society organization, and Lobby Club on projects aimed at promoting Vasyl Stus’s creative legacy both within Ukraine and beyond.

Dmytro Stus voiced his support for the National Bank of Ukraine’s decision to dedicate the new banknote to Vasyl Stus, who for many Ukrainian citizens has become a symbol of human and national dignity — the kind a person must uphold under all circumstances.

The “StusCenter” civil society organization thanks the National Bank of Ukraine for its transparency, openness, mutual respect, and readiness to cooperate.

We are convinced that partnership and dialogue are the best foundation for carrying out important social and cultural projects in Ukraine.

We thank the Lobby Club team for their support. We remind you that the introduction of the new 2,000-hryvnia banknote into circulation is planned by the National Bank of Ukraine for 4 September 2026.
